WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING A DIAMOND PEEL

Recommended for

Oily skin, aging skin, acne prone, minor to moderate breakouts, clogged pores, superficial hyperpigmentation issues, superficial sun spots and age spots, fine lines, clients wanting to brighten their complexion, or wanting their makeup to lay smoother.

Before

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week before hand.

Don't use retinols, Retin-A, Trentinoin, Differin, etc. for at least a week before.

Don't use glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or any AHA or BHA product, or any product that thins the skin for at least 3 days before.

 

Contraindications

  • Use of Accutane® within 6 months

  • Thin or very loose skin

  • Recent cosmetic surgery, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, or dermabrasion

  • Allergy to nickle

  • Severe rosacea

  • Sunburn or very irritated skin

  • Open sores or lesions

  • Infectious disease

  • Active Herpes simplex

  • Permanent cosmetics–wait 7 days then cover with occlusive barrier

  • Recent radiation or chemotherapy

  • If you have been waxed, sugared, shaved, or used a depilatory such as Nair within the last week on the area you are receiving a diamond peel

  • Medications that cause skin sensitivity

 

After

SPF should always be worn but is mandatory for at least 1 week following a diamond peel. 

No working out, sweating, or direct sun exposure for 24 hours.

Use only the products recommended by your esthetician for after care.

Redness, pinkness, and/or sensitivity can be a part of the healing process afterwards. These side effects tend to only last a few hours. Sometimes dryness can occur after a few days but is normal.
